	George W. "Boonie" Zettler, 80, of Du Quoin, passed away at 8:14 a.m., Friday, December 5, 2008 at his residence.
	Boonie had worked as a laborer for Zettler Lumber Company from 1966 until 1992.  He had worked at Lody Poultry from 1953 until 1966.  He was a member of Paradise Baptist Church in Tamaroa.
	He was born January 22, 1928 at Du Bois, the son of George and Elda Marie (Miller) Zettler.
	He married Wilma I. Roberts on June 7, 1952 at Tamaroa, and she survives.
	He is survived by his wife of Du Quoin, two children - Deborah Rae Kimbro and husband Bruce of Du Quoin and Ronnie D. Zettler and wife Jeanie of Tamaroa, two grandchildren - William Zettler and Danyel Patterson, five step grandchildren - Stephen Ferguson, Jimmy Ferguson, Shelly James, Alecia Kimbro, and Bryce Kimbro, six step great grandchildren, one brother - Robert Zettler and wife Helen of Tamaroa, and four sisters - Anna Mae Loucks of Sesser, Loretta Gladson of Du Quoin, Viola Dublo of Du Quoin, and Edna Johnson and husband Roger of Kansas City, Mo.
	He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother - Dean Zettler and one step brother - Thomas Glasscock.
	Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Monday, December 8, at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Shaw DeMent officiating.
	Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m., Sunday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
	Burial will be in the Paradise Cemetery at Tamaroa.
